P's & Q's

I wonder how many people read Enid Blyton these days. 

I remember i used to read this author's books like crazily when i was young. 

I read like EVERY book listed at the back of the books and was always looking out for the new additions. 

This brings me to my main point. 

If people read Enid Blyton, they would definitely come across the phrase "Mind your Ps and Qs". 

they would learn from the stories that children should ALWAYS have good manners. 

I went to google the name of the book series and that book is called "The Cat with a Feathery Tail". 

in this series is the short story titled "Polly's P's & Q's"

And then i vaguely remember how the story goes. the little girl always forgets her please and thank yous for the things people do for her. to correct this problem of hers, her mother sewn little alphabets of P's and Q's and stuck them onto her clothes whenever she forgot them. Each time she remembered, one was taken away. On one hand I am thinking why was she so silly; I would have taken it off haha! On the other hand, i think i would be pretty embarrassed if i were her. How embarrassing it is to walk around with a constant reminder that i do not have manners. 

People these days either don't seem to have manners in them or are just too lazy to do it. Anyhow, it is under-utilised. That's pretty sad isn't it. The other day someone asked me to do something for them and not a please or thank you was relayed. That didn't make sense to me because you could relay one whole lot of information for me to do, but you can't say a simple please or thank you. 

It just makes things a lot more unhappy. 

Yeah, that's my main point. 

I'M NOT HAPPY.

the guys ended their trip earlier than expected and decided to bring us to Mount Donna Buang and Brighton Beach for a day trip with them! :D
yayyayay!

we first headed for MDB to see Snow.
really, i think it was more like ice.

james and jodie even double teamed melvin.

we went down to the foot of the 'mountain' for our brunch:)

 

we went around walking and i saw a bridge that made me think of treetops walk!

but haha. no hiking required one.
hehe.
and we were off to brighton after that!

of course, how could we forget food right?

their vegetarian, and the portioning is like HUMONGOUS. 

hahaha. 

well i might be exaggerating but the portioning is really big. 

like halfway through and you would be like 'oh this is really filling'

never expected that from a vegetarian meal!

Met Joy and her friend for lunch over at Richmond!
we went to Pho Chu The and were all stuffed!
compared to the large bowl of $10, the small bowl of $8 seemed really minute.
ahhh we should have shared!!!!!
that would mean $5.
HAHA!

pottered around at home before getting down to do the things that i wanted to do.
had so many things in my list to get done!
but it was on the other hand so cold it was almost a torture to get out of the house.

Melvin's friends went home and we went to the old Melbourne Ghoul before they headed back to pack their stuffs.
We had dim sum at Shark Fins house!
i think the dim sum here is the best so far.
(not that i have been eating alot of dimsums la HAHA!)

Amazing Spiderman with the two gays!
HAHA.
we had coffee at Seven Seeds before heading to those little lanes to have dinner at 1000 Pound Bend.
I had the Roo Burger!

  

and the other two were ordered by the boys haha.
eh i think it tasted quite awesome.
among all three i think the roo burger was the best hahhaha :D
Never tried kangaroo meat so it was quite delicious haha.
i imagined it to be like really tough meat and all but it wasn't!
Tasted abit like beef.
I wouldn't know it's kangaroo meat if i didn't order it.
and we were off to watch spiderman!
the show was really not bad.
they say that it is the closest to the comics so far but i have never read the comics so i don't know.
the monster (lizard) was hideous by the way.
so scary looking.
ewwww.
the ending was a "SO DID THEY GET TOGETHER IN THE END ANOT WHY CAN'T YOU TELL ME DIRECTLY" kind of ending.
GAH.
i really prefer the endings for such shows to be exact instead of leaving me to guess.
but i think they did get together.
jodie and i were talking another day and she told me that the peter guy and the emma stone were dating for real in real life!
wow.
btw i think emma stone looks better in dark colored hair.
the other day i saw her poster about makeup and she looked so much prettier in dark colored hair!!

Went to highpoint to 'shop' today!
the mall is huge.
but i felt too sick to walk around.
my headache was terrible.
:(
had dinner at hanaichi and we headed home after woolies! :)

AFL!

I never can understand AFL.
it's like i thought i know what they are playing.
but wait! what did that guy just do?
is that allowed!!

there are SO many rules to stick to when playing AFL.
it's like not a sport anymore. its more like an art.
it can be really exciting to watch.
HAHA.

gah. if you like watching football/soccer, i think afl would capture your attention.
they have mark shots. then at the end of each quarter, they change sides. their goal posts are so cute. you hit between the centre and its 6 points, the sides and its 1 point. hit the pole itself and it's also a point. pretty cool. and how do they bounce that oval shaped ball? so interesting.

   

 

rainbow during the match! and it was a double rainbow we saw!!

oh and look at the queue at the train station after the match. we decided to walk but ended up taking a tram anyway haha!

had dinner at this hole in a wall place.
the food is a bit on the pricey side but the food is really nice!:)
we actually ordered alot of food but everyone was too hungry.
the spicy tofu soup looked awesome. and tasted great too!

Puffing Billy!

This trip got me up at about 7am in the morning!
shuffling and pottering around in the kitchen with sandwiches and nutella cake.
yummmy.
met up with the rest of the group at melbourne central at 10+ and we were on our way to belgrave to catch the old steam train! :)

the bummer came when all of us went in and saw that the train does not go to belgrave due to train fault!
OMG was the only thing that came to my mind at that point of time.
that was crazy. we only had that train to take. if we missed it, we were like left with a day of nothing to do.
and the train had to have some sort of fault and not do the city loop.
and so we took the train to flinders and tried our luck there.

thank goodness we just made it in time through the confused signals from the platform and instructions from the train operators.
whew :)
at least our efforts for planning were not wasted. :)

and that's the whole gang of us, apart from james haha

 

got to belgrave, caught our tickets to lakeside and hopped on!
concession tickets! :D (so much cheaper hahaha)

  

off for the 12:30 train!

this was the last train we took back to belgrave! (miss it and we will be stuck in wherever we were for the day) coincidentally, it was this guy's last ride too! he was going to retire after this train ride. there were like gun shots/fireworks or smth when we came back. idk about the rest but when i didn't know what was going on, those sounds sounded like gunshots and i was pretty scared and thought then, 'shit man, australia has terrorists invading here at this time?!' 

thank goodness they were just giving a mini farewell party for this alan guy.

brought them to classic indian curry thereafter and we had an awesome but very cheap dinner! haha 

i headed home after that as my home was a mess!!!

and i was tired too haha. 

they went to crowne casino to take a look

part 2 of june!

Really really feeling out of sorts for the past few days.
the nights are really the most tiring part of my day because i get a huge headache and yesterday was the worst man. i even felt like puking.

technically i did puke but nothing came out.
just went through the motions and i really felt alot better after that.
woke up today feeling soooo refreshed! :)

happy!! :)
but i wonder if i would feel sick again later tonight.
gahhh.

i don't even know what is wrong with me!
(and yes, i refuse to see a doctor.)

Anyways, on to my June! :)

Jodie came over to my place for dinner! :)

and we went out to Brunetti to meet Rachel for dessert!
well, after jodie and i had a coffee at some cafe that is.
oh and calamari rings i think.
LOL.
Jodie is always hungry!!!
Rachel is going back to SG in a few days. wooooh.
all of us are starting to miss SG cos mebourne has 'nothing to do'
actually we just did not explore out i think.

Mamasita with the whole group after sooooo long.
everyone has finally finished their exams and we went off to wherever we wanted to go after lunch was done!
with all the hype about that place, we just had to go try it.
But i would have to say that i was a tad bit disappointed.
the corn on the cob was really awesome.
the service was really worth praising.
butttttttttttt.
i find the food overpriced. (no pictures because well, it can be a bit daunting to be taking photos when everyone is hungry!)

Met with SuYin and Sherman for K!
Melvin and I were at Queen Vic marketing and we rushed back to make it in time but our dearrrrrrr SuYin was late! and worst thing was Sherman was already at Melbourne Central!!
He ended up having a cup of coffee while waiting for us.
SuYin is definitely the first friend of mine who can actually sing K till the whole list is gone, even if she don't get to sing the full song. she just sings the first 2 lines and next song. btw, we had like 10 pages of songs. each page had 5 songs. that's a whopping 50 songs that she did that. in some cases, she just sang on her own before the song even started and pressed for next song.
LOL.

  

anw, we had thai food after that!
omg now that i talk about thai food. as of 10 July 2012, i really miss tom yum soup.
LOL.
i miss going to have thai food with leeewenyiiiii at heartland mall. nakhon's so awesomeeeeeeeee & cheap!

Had lunch at Pho Chu The.
as usual, menus on walls in melbourne.
and we have the pho and spring rolls! yummy :)
Gosh, the bowl is so HUGE.
and it's only at $10.
trust me, you need 3 people to finish that bowl up.
it's portion is so big.
i saw people eating it on their own and i'm like...
goodness me, how can they even stuff all of THAT in?!
it's HUGE!!!

got out of hse to go buy the tickets at collins street for AFL!
got a total of 9 tickets for all of us for the collingwood VS freemantle match and i felt excited.
HAHAHA!
Had a fajita with melvin and headed home to cook dinner with suyin.
haha,
and soo....
for the first time after i have known this girl for the semester, she was going to cook a dish for me!

that was our dinner, and yes. she brought us krispy kreme because i gave her some the other time when zhengyao came over and gave us doughnuts!
haha.

met up with jodie today and we went off to queen vic market to do some grocery shopping.

had lunch cooked by the both of us (WEEE!)
and headed out to meet joy at melbourne central.
we were supposed to go for some nice dessert and shop for jodie's bag!

and so le petite along little collins was where we went.
it was seriously VERY far.
we walked quite a distance to and fro.

well, not forgetting the delicious cupcakes.
*CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? JOY DOESN'T LIKE THE CREAM OFF THE CUPCAKES!!*
what a waste. they look awesome.
came home and met the two guys for dinner at my own place.

headed over to IKEAAAAAAAAAAAAA for the super craved meatballs!

since the beginning of time.
haha, and welcome to my world of exaggeration.

oh and i finally tried that $1 hotdog that everyone always talks about but i always get too full to even try it by the time i finish my shopping at ikea.
LOL. 
i never knew it was so near to me.

i always thought ikea was heck of the far.
there was a huge kmart there as well.
but haha. i always feel bad when i shop with guys and i end up not buying anything.
Celebrated today because we weren't free thereafter as melvin's friends were gonna be over in melbourne!

 

we went to scholars wine bar to celebrate! :D
the food was fantastic.
and although i would never have stepped in without the voucher due to the price on the menu, i still think the food is worth the price on the menu.
"well yeah i can say what i want, i got in with that voucher".
oh but man, that dessert was soooooooooooo good.
i've never had a souffle before so that was the first time i had it. you drizzle the chocolate sauce over it and yeah, you know what i mean, chocolate lovers.
just awesome.
the waiter came over to ask how was the meal several times, and i just couldn't resist when he came to ask how was the dessert.
yes, i said that "it was AWESOME!"
haha.

met melvin's friends over at hardware societe for brunch/lunch.
went for a run before that!
yipppee!
been too cold to run, etc etc.
it just gets tough to run. boo.
walked around in melbourne thereafter for the rest of the day and we ended up at mercadante for dinner!

 

i swear i'm always at the most conspicuous place when we are supposed to have dinner there.
the owner of the place really scares me.
he puts me on like constant guard in case he comes over to scare me.
but the food there is really great i have to say.
haha!
trade offs.
