cheeeeery me :)

Weeee!

I'm back! (because it's holidays haha)

OH OH OH i'm back mainly to show off my yummy tea that i had with baby joanne! :D
Spot the nutella pizza with vanilla bean ice cream? :)
and this's what we caught after the yummy food.
we got shocked so many times during the show.
HAHA!
but it was a good (action-packed) movie!

oh!
and i was walking home after gym this afternoon.
there was this lady and a guy walking behind me, i wasn't really listening to their conversation cos it's rude right? :)
but oh damn, i couldn't help it.
1. they were talking rather loudly
2. when i heard the word 'sadistic', i felt COMPELLED to listen to it.

Yeah yeah, main point is i eavesdropped.
BUT WAIT TILL I MENTION WHAT I HEARD.

the guy was saying she was sadistic because she was building her happiness on other people's sorrows.
that's when i started tuning in haha!
she replied something like "but isn't it true? If i were feeling sad and depressed i will just take a trip down to the hospital and i would feel better! I wouldn't have to go to the mental clinic or something. at the end of the day, it's your family and friends that mean to you!"

i was thinking, this is SO TRUE. well, in a way you might have some degree of sadisticity (idk if there is such a word) in you, but if you look at it in another way, you will learn to appreciate what you have better right? albeit it's a rather peculiar way of appreciating life.

oh and this morning there was this really weird lady who was screaming into her phone, really heated up while she was crossing the road. she is so scary. melvin says that he is very scared of these people. he always feels that they will bite him or something. i think he is very funny. anyway, i summed up that she prolly had a very unfortunate encounter in the hospital either with a close friend or relative or she heard some really bad news from the medical report. "you can't blame me! she just came from across the road where the hospital was!"

back to a question. DO I INTEREST ANYONE IN DONATING BLOOD NEXT WEEK? :)

I'm SOOOOO Lazy.

by the time i actually manage to log in to my blog i'm tired already.

i have to try to log in only to realize that my account is logged into my school's gmail.
then i have to log on to gmail to log out from that account.
then i have to log on to blogger again.

I KNOW!
it seems like such an easy 3-step process.
but it makes a lot of difference when you have to wait for the slow internet to load.
then you will want to look at other things
then you will feel lazy cos you dont feel like doing anything after you have looked at other things.

Yeah, I'm lazy.
:)
that's the whole point of me typing so much about the rationalization of the whole i'm too lazy to blog.
hey, maybe i'm not that lazy after all :)
OMG IM TALKING RUBBISH.
must be too happy since the best thing is here!!!!

SPRING BREAK IS HERE!

yay yay yay yay.
i'm going to slack the whole day and slack my whole holiday away!

the graffiti is so nice here.
its at the wall of the tram stop, and basically the word is south melbourne (in case anyone can't see it)
i love this place!
i sort of like the ambience more than Queen Vic mkt.
well it definitely helps that the place is cheaper too HAHAHA
we walked around for awhile more before heading back to civilization LOL.

somehow we had the mood for ramen, and since ajisan was just opened....

The Question of Humanity

I was stopped by this lady while i was walking around Melbourne Central with Sherman on Friday.
And whatever conversation she had with me left me disturbed tremendously.
Well, not tremendously, but well, I WAS disturbed.

It is really often that i get stopped by people who are helping the poor in Africa, etc. This lady is one aggressive volunteer/worker. I quite like Australia's policy where they get those who really want to help out the poor. They go for long term commitment over one time donations. Then again, i find it impossible for me to chip in a dollar a day for the poor in Africa when i am here living off my parents and trying to save as much as possible. Well, that, and that i just don't have that big of a heart i guess.

This one dollar i donate a day might not reach them in that dollar. And I'm not making up stories. I have worked for these organizations before. The staff work on commission. They sell a ticket, and when they manage to sell off one booklet of 10 tickets which cost $10 each, they get to keep $30. Do the calculations. From the $100 earned from the booklet, $20/$30 goes to the employee, and something along the lines of $10 goes to the company itself. The total money going to these countries? $60-$70?

And they call themselves volunteers.

I'm not sure about Australia, but this was what i did. Never stuck around long enough to even finish the book. I felt so so sorry when i asked this lady once and she tried to find $10 through her pockets and wallet to give $10 to me because she found it so hard to reject me.

How i even survived 3 days i have no idea. It was so tormenting.

Anyway, i digressed.

This lady was really offensive, at least I found her approach offensive. She first launched into a whole full-of-conviction talk about females who had to undergo surgery to remove part of their sexual organ to reduce their sex drive or smth along that line. They would be considered unclean if they weren't dragged to do this surgery and people would avoid them. Sherman looked embarrassed. I could tell, i wonder why she couldn't. There was a guy there, she should be mindful of the words and the content. To make matters worse, she even asked me how i would feel if i was in that situation, and asked him how he would feel if it happened to his mom or smth.

LIKE WHAT?!

After she spent such a long time talking to us, i said no. She doesn't take no for an answer i realize.
Thing is, i said i need to think about it. And she said "well if you went home, you definitely wouldnt think about it and wouldn't take action."

THERE YOU HAVE IT.

You know that we aren't willing to make that long term commitment so why are you pushing us?
After knowing that my no meant no, she decided to target sherman.
and she specifically asked sherman to pick one out of the three options that he could help should he want to help. after he picked one, she went on with statistics on how he can help them with his dollar a day.

How she went to Africa and saw the poverty there, etc. I cue the guilt-trap and tears in now.

Oh and here's a catch. When i was walking by the opposite street again,  i saw her walking out of starbucks with another one which i would believe is her colleague/fellow volunteer. Maybe she was using the toilet (which i obviously don't believe), but I'm quite sure lil miss giving would have chosen a cup of 7-11 coffee if she was really so affected by the problems in Africa wouldn't she?

Well, it also didn't help matters when she was talking to me in broken English. I am unable to tolerate broken English in conversations with me. It is a torture.

P's & Q's

I wonder how many people read Enid Blyton these days.
I remember i used to read this author's books like crazily when i was young.
I read like EVERY book listed at the back of the books and was always looking out for the new additions.

This brings me to my main point.
If people read Enid Blyton, they would definitely come across the phrase "Mind your Ps and Qs".
they would learn from the stories that children should ALWAYS have good manners.
I went to google the name of the book series and that book is called "The Cat with a Feathery Tail".
in this series is the short story titled "Polly's P's & Q's"
And then i vaguely remember how the story goes. the little girl always forgets her please and thank yous for the things people do for her. to correct this problem of hers, her mother sewn little alphabets of P's and Q's and stuck them onto her clothes whenever she forgot them. Each time she remembered, one was taken away. On one hand I am thinking why was she so silly; I would have taken it off haha! On the other hand, i think i would be pretty embarrassed if i were her. How embarrassing it is to walk around with a constant reminder that i do not have manners.

People these days either don't seem to have manners in them or are just too lazy to do it. Anyhow, it is under-utilised. That's pretty sad isn't it. The other day someone asked me to do something for them and not a please or thank you was relayed. That didn't make sense to me because you could relay one whole lot of information for me to do, but you can't say a simple please or thank you.
It just makes things a lot more unhappy.

Yeah, that's my main point.
I'M NOT HAPPY.
>:(

The day we went to both extremes (as said by jodie)

They had snow fights with each other while i safely got away with me being camera woman.
HAHAHHA!

LOL!

we went down to the foot of the 'mountain' for our brunch:)

we went around walking and i saw a bridge that made me think of treetops walk!

but haha. no hiking required one.
hehe.
and we were off to brighton after that!

wonderful weather :)
and wonderful people heeehee :)

of course, how could we forget food right?
LOL

trippy tacos for dinner!
their vegetarian, and the portioning is like HUMONGOUS.
hahaha.
well i might be exaggerating but the portioning is really big.
like halfway through and you would be like 'oh this is really filling'
never expected that from a vegetarian meal!
